Saturday, October 8 at Hope UMC, Greenwood Village, CO at 9 a.m.    Rachelle Schaap will be honored as Shero of the Year; Dr. Bonnie Messer and Rev. Ken Daniell will speak about "The Transforming Power of Human Connections."

Edwina Maben will share her musical talent and Glorie Gitonga will join us by video.

Dr. Bonnie Messer and Jodie Senter are our breakfast Co-Chairs, with Rev. Lin Cheek providing the Invocation.

The Center for Health and Hope will use funds raised at the annual Gathering To HEAL Breakfast to reach out to help Kenya’s impoverished children and adolescents. Many are unable to attend school, because  they have lost their parents to HIV or are too poor to pay the fees.

“Children and youth are often overlooked during the global AIDS pandemic,” notes the Center’s Executive Director, Don Messer.  “Many lack schooling and are exceedingly vulnerable to infection from HIV.  Around the world an adolescent girl acquires HIV every two minutes.”

By focusing on “The Transforming Power of Human Connections,” breakfast speakers and participants will emphasize the importance of sponsor options and opportunities for young people if they are to have a future free of HIV and AIDS.
