Running For Rwanda

On March 11th three friends signed up to tackle the infamous Pikes Peak Marathon on August 20th. Their inspiration for the race was a passion for philanthropy and a desire to make a difference in the lives of some folks who could really use a helping hand. We are reaching out to folks who will sponsor us by donating to our cause. 100% of the proceeds of this effort will go toward providing vocational training scholarships to young adults in an economically depressed area in Rwanda. Click on the link to Donate!

Give per mile! For example $2/mi = a $52 donation. Be sure to note your donation "Running for Rwanda"

In the Summer of 2015 Tom Owens travelled to Rwanda during an internship at the Center for Health and Hope. While there he developed a dream of enabling young adults in Rwanda with vocational scholarships. This fundraising mission is the result of that dream. We are running the most difficult race of our lives so that we can raise $3,000 and enable two young leaders to enrich their lives and their community through the development of vocational skills.

Meet the Scholarship Recipients!

Because of your donations, these two will have the opportunity to empower themselves economically and find good jobs to bring them out of poverty.

This is Alexis Karenzi. He plans to use his scholarship in order to become trained in Auto Mechanics.

This is Rose Uwamugira. She plans to use her scholarship to go to Beauty School and become a Hair Dresser.
