Keynote: Catherine Mutua

A long-time friend of the Center, Dr. Mutua is the former Bishop of the Kaaga Synod (Methodist Church) in Meru, Kenya. Dr. Mutua is currently the Executive Director of the Methodist Treatment Centre (MTC), providing substance abuse counseling for the community. In addition, MTC provide medical care through multiple medical camps in the region, as well as the coordination of the construction of homes for vulnerable families and individuals, as funded by the Center for Health and Hope.

Global Impact Award: Bonnie & Don Messer

In recognition of their extraordinary dedication to individuals and communities impacted by HIV and AIDS, Drs. Bonnie and Don Messer will be recognized for their years of service with the Global Impact Award. As Founder of the Center and its longtime Executive Director, Don continues his leadership as the Chair of the Board of Directors. Don serves as President Emeritus and Henry White Warren Professor Emeritus of Practical Theology at the Iliff School of Theology in Denver. Bonnie is an original member of the Center's Board of Directors, continuing to serve on the Board, in addition to chairing the Center's Kenya Committee. Bonnie is a retired counseling psychologist, having previously served as a professional counselor and Chief of Mental Health at the University of Denver.
