PROGRAMS IN INDIA

Our programs include nutritional assistance, educational scholarships and tutoring, income-generating initiatives, a period poverty initiative, grief support, a people aging with HIV program, and a trans-shelter. Together, these efforts help improve health, expand opportunities, and strengthen communities.

HIV & AIDS Education

The Center conducts or sponsors HIV and AIDS seminars around the world to educate students, prisoners, laity, clergy, and the community-at-large regarding this global epidemic.

Women & Children's C.A.R.E. Center

The C.A.R.E. (Concern for AIDS Research and Education) Center, founded by Professor N. M. Samuel, M.D., is a community resource center focused on providing care and health navigation for people living with or affected by HIV and AIDS. Support includes psychosocial work, nutrition, and income generating projects for clients.

Kolkata Children's Home

Established in 2009 in Kolkata, the Snehakunja Children's Home serves children who have been living with or affected by HIV and AIDS, many whom have lost their parents. The Center for Health and Hope currently supports 27 girls and 14 boys that range in age from 5 to 18 with education, medical, and nutritional assistance.

New Hope and New Life Project

The Tambaram Community Development Society (TCDS) is a long-standing, legal charitable organization in Chennai. The focus of their work includes a nutritional supplement program, economic employment programs, and tutoring for young girls in order to help ensure their further education.

Grief Support Program

The Minnie R. Fredericks Grief Support Program at CSI Egmore Wesley Church in Chennai, India was successfully launched in January of 2026. Grief is a universal human experience—yet in moments of deepest sorrow, many individuals find themselves without meaningful support.

The Snegidhan and Snegidhi Trans Shelter

Based in Chennai, the shelter supports 25 women with housing, counseling, and livelihood training programs.

Positive Women's Network

Founded in 2008, this international organization aims to strengthen the strategic power of women living with HIV, emphasizing racial and gender justice.

The Center supports a "Born to Win" initiative which provides 180 children with peer counseling, career guidance, and mental health support in six different locations in Chennai.
