Our Mission & Founding
The mission of the Center for Health and Hope is to support and advocate for those impacted by HIV and AIDS around the world with programs of education, prevention, care, and treatment. The Center was incorporated formally as a 501(c)3 nonprofit on January 6, 2006.
Founded by Dr. Donald E. Messer, President Emeritus of the Iliff School of Theology, the Center arose from a critical need for compassion, not condemnation, within faith-based communities. Over the last 20 years, we have advanced care and stood in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalized groups to advocate for equality, justice, and human rights.
Our Core Values
As a community, we make these core commitments to one another and to those we serve:
Education & Awareness: We provide accurate, science-based information about the global pandemic to reduce fear and misconceptions about HIV and AIDS.
Challenging Stigma: We actively work to disrupt attitudes and actions that lead to the stigmatization and discrimination of persons living with HIV and AIDS.
Practical Support: We provide tangible, life-saving humanitarian support for those impacted by HIV and AIDS.
Financial Transparency & Integrity: We promise our donors that 100% of contributions go directly to the specific projects designated by donors, while keeping administrative and operational expenses at a minimum.
