ABOUT US
The mission of the Center for Health and Hope is to support and advocate for persons infected and affected by HIV and AIDS around the world with programs of education, prevention, care and treatment. As a faith-based organization operating for more than ten years, it was formally incorporated January 21, 2006 as a tax exempt 501(c)(3).
The Center's purpose is to address the challenges of the global HIV and AIDS pandemic and related needs in the world through programs of awareness, education, prevention, care, and treatment. In particular, the Center challenges attitudes and actions that contribute to stigmatization and discrimination of persons infected and affected by HIV and AIDS.
The Center seeks to:
-
provide ecumenical and inter-faith educational resources and opportunities for persons and other organizations regarding the global AIDS crisis.
-
develop projects of awareness, education, prevention, care, and treatment throughout the world that can be supported by gifts, grants, and other resources.
-
advocate non-governmental and governmental policies that contribute towards creating an AIDS-free world.
The Center believes that we can end the destruction caused by HIV and AIDS. To combat this global pandemic requires:
-
Challenging attitudes and actions that contribute to stigmatization and discrimination of persons living with HIV and AIDS.
-
Decreasing fear and misconceptions by providing real and accurate information about HIV and AIDS.
-
Providing practical and pastoral support for people living with HIV and AIDS and their families.
-
Offering programs of education and services, often in partnership with other organizations.
-
Educating and training laity, pastors, and seminarians to respond positively to the pandemic.
The Center believes in making sure all contributions, donations, fund raising, and grant money goes directly to the projects donors designate. We ensure this by working with professional and dedicated people in all the countries the Center supports.
