Methodist Treatment Centre

Located in Meru, Kenya, the Methodist Treatment Centre (MTC) offers substance abusers counseling, detoxification, and follow-up care. Over 3,700 clients have received care since MTC was established.
Led by Catherine Mutua, MTC has six full-time staff members. Future plans for MTC in 2025 and 2026 include the expansion of its men and women’s dormitories, office space, and the opening of a dispensary for patients in the community.
MTC hosts several medical camps for the communities surrounding Meru, with the next scheduled camp to take place February 28, 2025. Here, the vulnerable and those lacking health coverage, can receive basic health support such as: consultation with physicians, blood work, HIV testing, mental health support, and medicine.
The Center for Health and Hope currently pays for the salaries of the director and one counselor, along with some upgrades to the facility, and occasional patient treatment.
